To enjoy a vacation you need not take a trip to some far off place or have lots of money. You can enjoy a staycation with your family, in your home. Are you wondering what a staycation is? A staycation is a vacation that you take with your family. You stay at home and indulge in leisure activities in your backyard, your swimming pool, or your hot tub. You can even visit places nearby. The thumb rule is, if you can drive over and come back the same day to sleep in your bed, it qualifies as a staycation.
Interestingly, the concept of a staycation became popular during the 2007-2010 financial crises when a lot of people could not afford to go on vacations. They improvised and took staycations instead.
What are the things that you can do on a staycation?
If you plan it right, there will never be a dull moment during your staycation. It is far less expensive than a normal vacation. You do not have to pay for lodging and expenses on travel are also minimal.
Here are a few things to do on a staycation.
Host a barbecue in your backyard: If you own a barbeque station, you can host a barbecue for your family and friends. Ask everyone who comes to get something to share.
Enjoy sessions in your hot tub: A 15-20 minute session in your hot tub can be very relaxing. Your tired muscles will be soothed, and you will feel refreshed as well as ready to take on the world again.
Have a swimming pool party: You can call some friends and family over and enjoy a swimming pool party with food and drinks. If you like your privacy, you can spend some quiet time with your family instead.
Read a book on your patio: You can catch up on your reading, which you can do on your patio. You can make it more interesting with some food and drinks.
